Hospital bills · Houston, Texas

Got a hospital bill? Check it against the price the hospital published.

US hospitals must publish their prices. We compare every line of your bill with the hospital's own file, federal coding rules and your insurer's EOB, and show you what to dispute, with the evidence.

What we check on your bill

  • Above the hospital's own priceA line billed above the gross charge or the cash price the hospital itself published for that code.
  • Duplicate linesThe same service charged twice on the same day.
  • Unbundled codesParts of one procedure billed separately, against federal coding rules (NCCI).
  • More than your EOB saysA balance due above what your insurer's Explanation of Benefits says you owe.
  • Surprise out-of-network billsEmergency care at an out-of-network hospital, which the No Surprises Act protects.
  • Missing pricesItems without a matching price in our data, with nearby published prices clearly labelled as a reference.

How it works

  1. Upload your bill. A photo or PDF of the itemized bill. Add your insurer's EOB if you have it. No account needed.
  2. We compare every line. With the price file the hospital published (with its date and checksum), federal coding rules and your EOB. The check is free.
  3. You get the evidence. A report of each problem and, with the full package, the dispute letter, a call script and reminders of every deadline.

The hospital's own number, not an estimate

  • Required by federal lawFederal rules generally require hospitals to publish standard charges in a machine-readable file (45 CFR 180). Those hospital files are our price source.
  • Dated and traceableThe comparator shows hospital-reported file dates. Bill reports retain source references so the published records can be checked.
  • Missing means missingFiles undergo validation checks. If no matching price is available in our data, we show the gap; we do not invent a price or infer noncompliance.

Questions

Is this legal advice?

No. We are not a law firm. The report and letters are templates completed with the hospital's own published data and your bill. You decide what to send and you send it yourself.

Do I need my insurance details?

Not to start. With your insurer, kind of plan and the EOB (the statement your insurer sends after a claim) we can also check what you owe against what the plan allowed.

What if a price is missing here?

We show where our data has no match. That may reflect collection, processing or matching limits; it does not establish a violation. Ask the hospital for its published file and an itemized estimate.

Is my bill safe with you?

Files are encrypted at rest and deleted 90 days after your case closes, or whenever you delete the case. We never sell your data or use it to train AI models.
